Mathematical and scientific calculations can be made easier if you illustrate them. CurveExpert provides you with the means to represent data in a curve, analyze it and much more. You can model your data with linear or non-linear modeling tools, use various smoothing methods or splines and use the generated charts in any document.

CurveExpert's trial version has only a few minor limitations, so you can properly evaluate its core functionality. The software is cross platform, which means that you can use it on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Furthermore, you can import the same saved project on any operating system.

The user interface consists of many options and multiple pages, which can be accessed via navigation tabs, but everything is very well organized, so you will not get lost or tangled in menus and settings. You can type a numerical value in an Excel-like spreadsheet or import your data from TXT, CSV, DAT and other file types.

Once your data is inserted, you can choose from a series of options, in the Calculate menu, to generate various curves, such as linear or non-linear fits, splines and more. The results are displayed on a different tab and you can perform additional operations and display the resulted curves in the same chart.

It is also possible to calculate functions, which are independent from the inserted data. A large number of predefined functions can be found on a separate window, on which you may create your own functions as well. The software provides you with hyperbolic functions, logarithmic or trigonometric functions and others. They are neatly organized in a tree structure and you can select one or more functions and insert them in your chart. Curves are drawn automatically, with different colors, and you can find a legend, along with your chart, which you can move and edit.

All calculations are listed on the left side of the interface. If you hover with the mouse cursor over a calculation, you will be able to preview its curve separately, in the lower left corner of the window. You may create additional tabs, if you want to plot results separately. When you create a new tab, you will find your initial values in a blank chart and you may click and drag individual calculations from the list to the chart.

Pros

The software makes it easy to illustrate calculations as curves. You can generate various fits, splines and more. CurveExpert allows you to insert individual calculations in the same chart or display them separately, on different tabs. The interface is well designed and organized and you can find many useful features.

Cons

Obviously, you need some knowledge about curves and certain calculation types if you want to use this program. CurveExpert will help you generate professional grade curves, for any calculations, regardless of their complexity.
